What is Dry Lining?

Dry Lining is the process of fitting dry lining boards to new walls and ceilings.

It’s a quick, easy and cost-effective way to create perfectly straight lines between your ceiling and floor, making it one of the best solutions for renovation projects or newly built homes.

Also known as ‘skimming’ or ‘taping & skimming’, the process involves fitting pre-made plasterboard sheets in between joists before filling them in with a thin layer of filler – leaving you with flat, smooth surfaces ready for decoration.

As well as being an affordable option, it also makes rooms look bigger by creating a more uniform surface within your property that can be painted in any colour or pattern you choose.

Dry lining can be done by DIY enthusiasts, but we recommend hiring a professional plasterer or dry liner contractor to ensure the quality of work is up to scratch and that your job complies with all health and safety regulations.
